I've been watching the Petit Le Mans race since it started this morning and still feel good about my picks even though one of them, the No. 9 Audi, is 15 laps down. These days any pick that finishes in the points is a good one and my other two ALMS starters are two of the top three.
The No. 1 Highcroft Acura was the huge favorite which is kind of surprising since the Peugeots and Audis topped the practice reports all week and qualifying was yesterday, hours before the deadline, with les 908s gridding first and second.
Here's the most-picked ALMS starters for this weekend, understanding that many teams picked more ALMS entries than NASCAR or IndyCar to complete their seven entry lineup:

The Nationwide race is about to start and while Joey Logano beat Kyle for the pole, Kurt's younger brother was the top NNS pick, barely topping Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was the fourth most popular pick ahead of Brad Keselowski, Danica, Kevin Harvick and Sliced Bread.
Sadly, neither Tony, Dale Jr. or Danica are racing this afternoon. Doh.

Lame duck driver Kasey Kahne put his Richard Petty Motorsports Ford on pole for Sunday's Cup race at Kansas and teammate Paul Menard earned his very first front row start. As far as picks go Kasey barely cracked the top 19 and Menard was only started by three rambling, gambling FMFL teams.
Jimmie Johnson was the far away favorite with Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin and Jeff Gordon the next most popular driver picks. Kyle and Harvick were fifth and sixth on the starter stats report in front of Ford driver Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle with Kurt Busch and the No. 2 Dodge next in front of Kasey.

The top five IndyCar picks almost mirror the Homestead qualifying results except for Helio who could only muster a 10th -place time. Dario's on pole with Dixon beside him then Will Power, Ryan Briscoe and Dan Wheldon. If they finish that way Mr. Ashley Judd will be the IZOD IndyCar Champion but I'm betting Briscoe or Spiderman will somehow make sure that Power gets the crown -- theoretically by winning and keeping Franchitti behind one or both of them.
Of course if Will can get his first -ever oval win it won't matter where Dario finishes.
