The Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series were at Michigan this past weekend with Ford winning on Saturday, Toyota on Sunday and I sure hope one of the Big Four carmakers was selling product on Monday.

Carl Edwards dominated the Saturday NNS race in denying teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr. the win with Kyle Busch, Paul Menard and Trevor Bayne filling out the top five.  Menard scored more FMFL points than 2nd or 3rd thanks to qualifying on pole, good for those who picked him, and while Brad Keselowski only finished ninth he get lap leader and mfr points.

On Sunday it was Denny Hamlin getting the W over Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Paul Menard and Carl Edwards with Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Mark Martin and Brian Vickers filling out the top 10.  Kurt Busch was 11th to keep his pole, lap leader and mfr points while Jimmie Johnson, Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon all scored bupkis.  Bummer.

About 300 miles east of Detroit, at The Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, WI, Dario Franchitti started and finished first after leading the most laps to beat Graham Rahal, Oriol Servia, Will Power and Danica with James Hinchcliffe, Scott Dixon, Takuma Sato, Helio and Justin Wilson filling out the top 10.  Briscoe was 11th in front of Mike Conway and Marco with Tony Kanaan 19th after starting fourth and actually leading right before he crashed out for a DNF.

But TK's day was better than Ryan Hunter-Reay's as RHR lost it on the very first lap after qualifying seventh on a track he's won on before.

This week it's F1 at Valencia, Cup at Sonoma, Nationwide and the Rolex at Road America and IndyCar at Iowa.  Picks aren't due until this Friday at midnight and be carefull with those 'ringer' picks for Elkhart Lake.  Fellows and Villenueve have both burned me before ... and since I still have four days until the deadline there's still a good chance one will fool me again.
